eech this was a busy busy night for me...i was running back
and forth all over the place, but i really wanted to hit
sleepy hollow, since i had managed to miss all of GEAH
other stuff. after helping out at my church's high school
victorian murder-mystery night, and unsuccessfully trying
to snag a few friends to drag along (the usual story), i
headed out to featherly park to see what the green eggs and
ham/ kuci people had to keep me up into the whee hours of
the morning.
got to featherly park around 11:30ish and was horrified in
that they had shut the gates to the park and were not
letting any more peeps in. eek. i of course not easily
averted from any party i had my mind set on goin too,
whipped up a bit of social engineering and the nice ranger
lady at the gate let me in. a little close for comfort, but
i was in, found parking, and proceeded to play follow the
bass to the where they had setup. as expected it was very
lowkey and not many peeps were dancin, but it was all good
and i boogied the night away until they had to turn the
sound off, due to cop presence. things began to sorta suck
then, but i luckily found the experimental area which was
goin off with some hard crunchy stuff that was just too
cool for words. that was the best part of the party for me
just sitting there on the dried riverbed in that area
hidden away by the reeds, looking up at the stars and
letting the music wash over me. great peaceful mello
feeling hard to describe. then that got shut down, damn
noise complaints, and so i chatted with some folks, watched
the sunrise, and went home.
bit of a lukewarm experience overall...funny memories and
the experimental area made it worth it though.
