I can really relate to the way you suck out my soul. The way you hit that guilt ten thousand times and still never give up. Why you could choose abasement over acknowledgment and ochre over hue. They said it never had anything to do with your heart. But now as I look out the window at the barren plain of your soul and begin to trek across the burning landscape, I can see everything so much more clearly in the haze of the flames. Your burning your pretty faces. Crackling up in the sun. Your burning your fingers. Raisins like dead rabbits drying in the orchard. A rotten peach squelching my toes. You sucked the smudges of your cracked lens.
Your laughing up a storm of alchemy to solve every solution. Your gold was the silver lining of your concert. Your whims a far reaching scion of onion tears. Your failure to compromise a scar forever.
Leaving me here, grinning and barren.
They always say and always does what I expect. Everything you say is a stupid lie. You won’t tell the truth even when I die. You’ll pick myself to pieces till the end of time, then I’ll glue them back together in a stupid rhyme. You’ll take hostages. Make demands, set fire to all our best laid plans. You’ll assemble volatile explosive devices , sell them all for exorbitant prices. Purchase an aircraft learn to fly, run out of gas while we’re in the sky. Automatic Pilot and x-ray specs…..I was in the cockpit when the airplane wrecked. Fire in your eyes fire in your heart reach for one and reach for none. The biggest liar in town throws a fist into the mirror. Broken rosebud.
Teach me something rip out my hair, send me flying through the air. Do something, why don’t you do something I’m so bored I sleep. Why don’t you get up and talk some spit. Kick them all in the family jewels. We’ll watch them all as their guts unfold, then we’ll rob the 7-11 and hit the road. I’m stopping everything, making fun of myself, drinking lemonade, ripping bookshelves, ripping up words I thought were important-maybe that will blow the window open.
The dusted house is falling, get thee gone…and get thee a pounding hangover when you get back.
